The idea
Gaya 58 was my bachelor’s thesis in Nautical Product Design at the University of Genoa: a sporty 58-foot yacht drawing its inspiration from the automotive world. Taut surfaces, a low and fast silhouette, and a sculpted hardtop whose arches frame the sea the way a car’s glasshouse frames the road.
Exterior
One uninterrupted sheer line runs from bow to stern. The twin arches of the hardtop carry the eye aft and open the deck to the sky.
City to sea
Designed to leave the marina at speed — a sharp entry, a clean flank and a stern that sits low and close to the water.
Life aboard
Open, lounge-driven decks turn the cockpit into a terrace on the water — from the aft sun pads to the shaded table beneath the hardtop.
Day to night
Integrated lighting traces the lines of the hull after sunset, keeping the automotive signature legible in the dark.
